I’m a paleo-libertarian interested in promoting freedom through the use of “noble rhetoric.” What is noble rhetoric? Richard Weaver in his book, The Ethics of Rhetoric, defines it as creating an appetite for the good. This doesn’t mean that, like the captain of the Pinafore, one can never say a big bad “d” but it does mean that the appetite for freedom is more likely to be whetted by inspiring prose than cheap journalistic put downs.
